TB Housing Environmental Assessment

OVERVIEW

To house patients infected with tuberculosis (TB), the County of Imperial Community and Economic Development Department was responsible for constructing the TB Housing Project. The Project includes locating two mobile homes on an 11.6 acre parcel of land within the County Center II Facility. EGI prepared an Environmental Assessment on behalf of the County of Imperial for submission to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to examine the impacts associated with constructing the TB Housing Project. Key issues included: removal of residual soil toxics in former basins; construction air quality impacts; and apprising safe distance from areas with flammable/explosive materials contained in above-ground storage tanks.
